NOBODY LISTENS!

Namaste and welcome back to the Quiet Mouse Strikes Back. Recently I have been made re-aware of a societal issue that is disastrous and  problematic to say the least. When you read the above title for this blog, I have NO DOUBT that it will bring a clear image into many readers minds. So let's explore some of those examples, shall we?

 

Now it has come to my attention how people really don't listen to one another now, especially since I have children, because let's be honest: kids really don't listen to adults. Now there is the obvious possibility that people in general "THINK" they "KNOW" everything so that stops them from listening. There is also the possibility that people have too much ear wax and can't hear. It is also possible that people listen to too much loud music and have gone deaf, therefore cannot hear. 

My personal opinion is more along the lines that people just don't care, ergo, they stop listening. 

It is particularly difficult with younger children, and with a general population that flat out DOESN'T want to learn or be taught. I think a lot of this stems from our broken and dysfunctional educational system where people are taught to be standardized humans, and learning is a chore or a punishment instead of a process of improvement, self-betterment, and life-long progress. 

 

So starting with our youth, now we have a population of flat out IDIOTS that care more about what's on TV than learning about science, history, math, or even basic English. That's a real pisser is when the people of an English speaking nation CAN'T EVEN SPEAK THEIR NATIVE LANGUAGE, let alone a second or third language. People in China, Japan, Korea, India, and other Asian nations ALL learn from an early age to speak not only their OWN language, but also their neighboring languages AND English, which Americans can't even learn their OWN ONE language.... and why? Because American idiot kids think that somehow learning and self-betterment is for losers and somehow uncool. FUCK THAT!

I must admit that it gets me quite frankly pissed off when I as an adult try to teach kids something and they look at you like you've just tried to poison them, or like a 3rd eyeball just popped out of my forehead. I get the look like I'm some kind of horrible monster trying to make them learn the most tedious things IMAGINABLE. Now this has NOT deterred me from my overall goal of teaching the youth. I personally have made learning an integral part of MY LIFE, and I oh so wish I could share that love of knowledge with my kids and other youth. But they just don't want to LISTEN. 

Adults aren't really that much better, especially considering that many people who are of a certain age (over 21) want to CALL themselves adults, but yet not act or think like adults. It's really shameful that not only are people dropping out of school or thinking that intelligence is somehow uncool, but it's really bad when they think that all of a sudden since high school is over that so is learning... like REALLY??? I have met grown men and women that can BARELY READ and WRITE. I have met so called adults that watch so much TV that their brains have rotted and turned into mush that they sound like a 3rd grader when they speak aloud.

What's worse is the fact that the stupidest people THINK they know everything and you cannot tell them otherwise without a fight. How immature. The SMARTEST person on the planet is the one who can admit to his/her self that he/she knows NOTHING... 

So what is the solution? I don't know. That's the smartest thing I can think to say. But I WILL keep looking into it and improving my communication skills because I DO believe it is very important to pass on the knowledge to the younger generations as well as helping educate my fellow adults, some of whom are ignorant and stupid by CHOICE... As always, I am open to suggestions, although rarely I receive them. Please keep leaving comments on my blog pages so I can not only be a better writer, but also a better human being. I don't think it is too much to ask of people to hold the bar a little higher to try to force people to raise their own standards to reach certain goals. In fact, I really think it is a disservice to kids to LOWER standards, and "no child left behind" has destroyed education and the smart kids just have given up and quit trying as the standards, not just in primary education, but in life in general have been made and set to the LOWEST COMMON DENOMINATOR. 

Basically it breaks down like this, in my opinion:

Kids don't listen to their parents or teachers.

Parents don't really listen to their kids or make themselves available.

Kids DO listen to their other stupid friends... only GOD knows why since their stupid friends are even dumber and know LESS than anything helpful or productive. 

Parent's don't really set a good example when they come home from work talking about how stupid their boss is when clearly the parent is the one who thinks they know everything... but clearly NOT, or else they would be the boss, not the asshole who has to keep correcting their shitty work.

On the flip side, the boss seldom listens to his employees, even when it is about ways to do things more efficiently... this is usually out of fear that the subordinate might one day take the boss' job. 

In fact, I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that much ignorance and reason people stop listening is either from:

1) Lack of concern... stupidity... OR...

2) Just flat out LAZINESS... OR...

3) Fear of failure. It is amazing how stupid of behavior stems from this assinine fear of failure... here's the problem... YOU CAN'T SUCCEED IF YOU NEVER TRY TO GROW AND LEARN.

Furthermore, one of the WORST parts of being human is that we NEED to do everything about 100 times before we figure it out... UNFORTUNATELY we have a society of stupid, lazy, ignorant, un-listening people that either REFUSE TO EVEN TRY, or get easily frustrated and QUIT TRYING after a few measly, lame attempts, but more often, they don't even try at all... but then, then they want to bitch and complain about how life isn't fair or how everyone hates them, etc... among the multitude of excuses for not listening or not trying.

There is a reason why humans have evolved 2 ears and 1 mouth... and it really IS because we are SUPPOSED TO LISTEN TWICE AS MUCH AS WE SPEAK. Unfortunately, MOST people talk about 4 to 5 times as much as they listen... in fact, I believe, that MOST people DON'T LISTEN so much to the point that they really aren't listening to the other person in a conversation, but really more just WAITING FOR HIS/HER TURN TO SPEAK. It is amazing that we live in this digital age of communication and yet our interpersonal relationships/communications are WORSE than they have ever been. People have abandoned basic skills of learning, talking, and social interaction... many times out of sheer boredom... which is really the bane of humanity... we are slowly making the population stupider and stupider, less and less thoughtful and caring... all because we didn't want to listen to the people who ACTUALLY CARE and DO want the BEST for us. But I guess it really IS human nature to have to fuck up and figure everything out for SELF... we can't just take someone else's advice who has already made that same mistake... NOPE... we've got to do worse for ourselves... then we start the BLAME GAME.

I don't have much else to say. Keep trying to learn. Keep listening and improving communication between you and your loved ones... and please please please don't ever stop trying to teach the youth so they may not have to do everything the hard way... even though they probably are going to anyway. This has been the one and ONLY Quiet Mouse.
