Why Is the Truth So Offensive?

Namaste and welcome my friends, family, and fellow knowledge seekers to another edition of the Quiet Mouse Strikes Back. Thank you for taking time out of  your busy day. I'm gonna try to make this short today because it's really a pretty plain and dry subject.

It must be very self-gratifying to label others as being different than your own self. What you think is happening is that society or "people" are the problem and it's EVERYONE ELSE that is to blame than your own self. What we are really doing is creating fantasy worlds inside our own heads... because quite simply, an imaginary world where you don't have to deal with truth is probably preferable to the harshness of reality. Prejudice, bigotry, greed, vanity, envy, lust, and selfishness runs through every culture, ethnic group, gender, sexual orientation, or geographical location.
We ALL have to fight with our own inner demons. We ALL know this to be true. Somehow, however, we are able to make a cognitive disconnection with our fellow brothers and sisters, convinced that the world cares so much about us that it is deliberately set out to take us down. We externalize the INTERNAL battle that rages within all of us. Like most things in life, there IS indeed a bell curve where there are extremes as well as "norms". At one extreme end are the fruitcakes and nut jobs that cannot discern their fantasy with reality. These people are institutionalized for the sake of others in society who do not want to see past their own fantasy world. On the opposite extreme are those left-brain dominated logic thumpers that have little to no imagination, but focus on what is tangible rather than the ethereal dream of what life coulda, woulda, shoulda been like...
(I think most of my readers would...)
Perception is indeed 9/10ths of reality. What's crazy is that we could ask the same 10, 100, or 1,000 people about the EXACT same thing and lo and behold you will get about that many answers back because we ALL have our OWN subjective version of what we call "reality".
"What is normal for a spider is chaos for the fly." So says an old Chinese proverb.
As said before the fantasy "reality" is preferable to the truth. It causes genuine pain in most people to see the horrors and shocking truths of the world. This is why they CHOOSE to live in a fantasy. Television is GREAT at helping people live in a false bubble of alternate-reality. It's all a CHOICE! That's it. The blind majority CHOOSES to turn the channel, or ignore it completely. Some just scroll past the link or post on the Internet/ social media. Choosing to ignore reality is that individuals own damn fault, yet the same person will get offended, irritable, and agitated when asked pointed questions or posed with FACTS that destroy the illusion of the lies we tell ourselves.
Why?!?
The simple answer is that in a world that is so fake and manipulated with control it is very difficult to know what is real. Charisma and confidence will lead many to believe nearly ANYTHING, especially if it's shown on television. Also, the lie is easier to believe, it's blunt around the edges and takes the sting off of things, kinda like a Xanax. The TRUTH HURTS!!
Why?!?
Because people don't want to believe the government is bad. People don't want to believe their religion is wrong. People don't want to admit they are poor parents. Etc. Etc. Etc. Add ANYTHING you want to this list...
Why?!?
Because it is a painfully difficult task to look the man or woman in the mirror and make a REAL change. Because if we ADMIT that our fantasies are just that it is a REFLECTION OF SELF in these things that are fucked up with the world. Truly if we can SEE, ACKNOWLEDGE, AND UNDERSTAND what's going on around us... it is indeed a REFLECTION OF SELF. We can ONLY see through our two eyes, in others, the things we see in ourselves. What we really see if we look closely, is that there isn't really that much difference between us all. All the castles and parapets we've built to protect our own fragile egos will eventually all come crashing down. Reality never stops, even when we choose to ignore it or pretend it doesn't exist, drowning in vice and debauchery.
Me, personally... I'm NEVER going to stop telling my perception of reality to others. I DO see in society the things I have seen in myself, experienced firsthand, or have a sufficient knowledge to insightfully have a good clue what will happen based upon certain variables that are within my own grasp to ponder. I am CHOOSING to see reality. I'm not looking away. My eyes and mind are WIDE OPEN. I'm CHOOSING to be happy regardless. Telling the truth is NOT negative, only the ignorant perceive it as being so.

Professional Wrestling

Well, for those who enjoy professional wresting and some who don't it's officially time once again for Wrestle Mania. Makes me feel old to actually remember when it all started 30 years ago with "Rowdy" Roddy Piper, Hulk Hogan and Mr. T. So now it's officially time for Wrestle Mania XXX.

Before I talk about the main event I want to discuss wrestling in general for a moment. Despite the growing popularity of the WWE and the die hard fans of TNA (Total Nonstop Action) wrestling, I still hear frequently moans and groans from others when pro wrestling is brought up in the room during a conversation. True fans will be all animated and excited, but there are many more who see it as being to violent or immature. Some think it's homosexual for sweaty grown men to wrestle around. I don't personally think it's any more homosexual than football where the quarterback reaches between another man's ass cheeks for the football. Hut, Hut!
I believe the desire and appeal of sports, in general, is this latent aggressiveness in our genetic code that is still there from the days of the hunters and gatherers. In those times athleticism meant you were a good hunter, the tallest, fastest, and smartest were the ones who were able to spread their genes on to new generations. It is also in our nature as humans to want to be entertained. We haven't really evolved much from the medieval times of knights and tournaments, before that there was the coliseum of Rome.
People like to be entertained and we like things to seem on a grand stage, larger than life.
I keep hearing the haters talk about how wrestling is "fake" or "not real".
It's a SHOW. It is for entertainment purposes only. The wrestlers are body builders, actors, and entertainers... and like all entertainers, they are selling an image, in this case, tickets, pay-per-views, t-shirts and memorabilia. There are writers, just like any t.v. show or sitcom would have that write out the scripted drama. Like a ballet, the wrestlers go out and put on a show of athleticism in order to excite and entertain the fans. YES, the winner of the match is scripted before hand, but I assure you that the talent actually DOES get hurt. Broken bones, torn muscles and tendons, strains, sprains, and even death has occurred within the ring during the show. These men are trained professionals and these wrestling moves ARE dangerous and should NEVER be tried from home.

On a side note, I'm supremely disappointed with TNA wrestling. They have let go much of the good talent and kept around a lot of jabronies. Good talent they let go... let's start with the man himself, Hulk Hogan. How about the "Icon" Sting? Matt Morgan, AJ Styles, Christian, Jay Lethal, Devon, Rob Van Dam, and Alex Shelley, among others.

On that note, I want to say that I spent a few years not really watching the WWE because I don't really care for Vince McMahon. I like his company and talented wrestlers, but I don't care for his in ring "persona". I DO believe that the WWE puts on a show like no other. WRESTLE MANIA IS A SHOW LIKE NO OTHER! Ten years ago I went to Wrestle Mania in Los Angeles at the Staples Center and watched John Cena win his first World Heavyweight Championship belt. This year he faces a sadistic man named Bray Wyatt. But the main event is with my favorite wrestler: BATISTA vs. Randy Orton vs. the winner of the match between Triple H and  Daniel Bryant, which will be held earlier in the show which is 4 hours in run time with an additional 2 hour pre-show to be highlighted by a 4 team, 8 man tag team elimination exhibition match.
Tonight is the official WWE Hall of Fame ceremony featuring the induction of the Pallbearer, Lita, Mr. T, el jeffe Razor Ramon, and the Ultimate Warrior.
I'm not a paid spokesperson at all. That would be sweet... but, I'm not. In lieu of that I would like to say that the WWE network is a pretty sweet deal at $9.99 a month with access to a whole library of classic matches as well as behind the scenes featurettes, and all the pay per view matches as well.
Well, to all my wrestling fans out there, I hope you like the show. Feel free to leave comments if you'd like to discuss your thoughts on the show, a particular wrestler you like, or you just want to shout out your fandom of pro wrestling.

American Conservatism

Once we recognize that Libertarianism is essentially neo-feudalism, and that it is now the dominant conservative philosophy of the Republica...
