Opiate Addiction

Namaste and thank you for joining me today for this short blog. Welcome to all my friends, family, and fellow knowledge seekers. Today I want to talk briefly about opiate addiction.

I know that things like this are often a difficult subject to discuss for many people. The horrific thoughts and images associated with drug addiction are painful, destroying lives and families. Drug addiction is one of the worst things an individual can go through in his or her lifetime. Chronic mental or physical pain that drives a person over the edge and into the hands of a potentially life ending drug is unimaginable for most people. It all starts simple enough with an injury or chronic pain that won't seem to go away. The doctors don't know what to do with you but prescribe you narcotics like Oxycontin and Vicodin. Soon the pills aren't enough to take the pain away, or the all too familiar prospect of not being able to afford the expensive pills.
Pain is entirely subjective and is difficult to look at in an objective manner. It is nearly impossible for one person to accurately be able to describe and understand the pain of another. We all have different tolerances to pain and unfortunately the tolerance of some is low. We all have different levels of tolerance to drug addiction. It can happen to the best of us. What sufferers need is empathy and understanding rather than the typical responses of fear and judgement.
So pain can drive a person right into the open arms of addiction to the street drug market and for the sake of this discussion we are talking about opiate pills leading to the use of street heroin. Heroin is cheaper and more available than over the counter prescription pills. I am in NO WAY glamorizing or an any way saying that ANY part of this drug is okay. It is NOT. However, as a former drug addict who was addicted to methamphetamines, I can look at it and see; truly understand the pathology and psychology of addiction. IT'S A MOTHER FUCKER. It takes strength and courage like most people would not understand to quit.

Okay, I got a little off topic there. The overall point is that opiate addiction hasn't been taken seriously enough. There isn't a lot of talk about it in the media. They just bury the junkie bodies and pretend like it's business as usual. The only time they seem to take it seriously is when a fake "celebrity" or athlete is caught using. THEN it becomes a big deal!!! Opiate pills lead to heroin use. What's the real gateway drug? It could very well be the pills in your medicine cabinet. Big Pharma is the big drug dealer, creating addicts from their product to which they show no remorse. Big Pharma is only concerned with making a profit, even if that means turning their customers into drug addicts. Then we have the military industrial complex that is STILL to this day in Afghanistan using American troops to guard fields of poppy that are used to make opiates INCLUDING heroin that since the war on terror has flooded the illegal drug markets in the USA making it cheap and easy to get.
But why would you want to go through this? I'll tell you. Chronic pain makes a LOT of people desperate for relief. Desperation is step one in making a addict who then becomes a junkie. A good movie that shows the effects of heroin addiction and the fucked up shit it does to the body is "Trainspotting"; also "Requiem for a Dream". Both of these movies show the darker side of addiction and even though they are sensationalized for a Hollywood movie, the effects ARE REAL.

So to get down to brass tacks of the subject, addiction is a bitch. If you know anyone who suffers from this addiction it is good to know that there IS help out there for those in need. No one should have to suffer alone. If you or anyone you know is smacked out on heroin, please urge them to stop now before they become just another overdose statistic that ruins lives and families.

Churches Should Pay TAXES Too

Namaste and welcome to another posting for the Quiet Mouse Strikes Back. Thank  you for taking time out of your busy day to join me for reading this short blog. And thank you for being one of the over 33,000 readers of my blogs. Please hang around and read some of my past blogs when you are done with this one.

Today I want to write about taxes. We are full into the prime of the Presidential election season where the candidates are having primaries and debates. A LOT of the candidates claim to want to cut taxes, but cannot say from where... they say they want to balance the national budget, but they don't have a clue where to get the money from. NO ONE is willing to stop the gross and excessive military industrial spending which could feed every man, woman, and child in this country, plus send them all to college... but hey we have to get money from somewhere. I KNOW that the average Joe taxpayer is already strapped for cash and you can't get blood from a stone.
Well, folks, here is a REAL WORLD suggestion of where to get BILLIONS of dollars. Tax the churches that have claimed exemption in the past. BILLIONS of dollars in taxable revenue could be created from a portion of the donations made to your local churches. These monies could pay for our children's education and school lunches; to fix roads and give more money to our failing teachers. This blog isn't meant to bash the religious system, but to point out that if WE have to pay an exorbitant amount of taxes, then I think they should have to as well. NOT EVERY DIME goes toward a worthy goal like helping the poor and needy for the church money. I've seen a LOT of preachers driving around in pretty nice cars and wearing pretty nice clothing that the majority of the tithing congregation cannot afford.

Speaking of election season, the hot topic is to get the support of the religious crowd on the candidates side. I agree with the quote from the late George Carlin up above in the picture... if the churches are so invested in politics and government then they should have to pay their fare share of the cost of running this fucking country, rather than just running it into the ground. For example, do you really think that the churches care if there is a recession? They still want YOU to put money in the plate or basket every week. Again, I'm not dissing and saying that paying a tithing to the church is bad necessarily. But if you can pay 10% of your income to the church, then the church can damn sure pay at least 10% of that money back in taxes to our domineering government to pay for the things that are a necessary and integral part of our society. IT JUST MAKES SENSE PEOPLE!!!
Let's END the tax exempt status for these mega churches and raise some money to pay for the expenses of our society. NO MORE EXEMPTIONS!!!

Well, that's about all I have to say about this subject... for now. This has been the one and only Quiet Mouse 420.

Gauged Earrings

Namaste and welcome to another posting for the Quiet Mouse Strikes Back. Thank you for joining me today for this short blog about earring gauges.

Now this is totally my personal opinion here, but I think that they don't really look good on anyone. That opinion however isn't the primary focus of this topic. What I really want to say is that I understand that it's a fad and like everything else it will loose interest and fade away in time. Overall, it's just NOT FOR ME.
However, in the meantime, I have to be absolutely honest and say that I would rather an employer allow the gauges to be IN rather than out. I think it's extremely tacky when the person is forced to have their hangy dangling earlobe all drooping down without the gauge to hold it open. I'd much rather see the earring in.
I think that most of the people who have done this body modification to themselves will ultimately regret their decision after they end their rebellious 20's. For those who do not know, the ONLY way to fix the earlobe after it has been stretched out like this is for it to be surgically repaired and the excess stretched skin cut away. I have worked as a surgical tech and done this procedure with physicians. It's a simple enough procedure, but it still looked supremely painful to cut up the ear and sew it back together. I don't see the attraction, but I'm sure as it is similar to tattooing there is a cult following that are loyal to their body modifications and will keep them forever... and heaven forbid you piss someone off and they rip your gauged earring out...

Well, that's about all I have to say about that. Just be aware and be careful when you are causing a PERMANENT change to your body that is not so easily taken back. Be good to your body.

American Logic

Namaste my friends, family, and fellow knowledge seekers. Welcome to another exciting post for the Quiet Mouse Strikes Back. Today I want to talk briefly about a point of idiocy in some of the American logic.
Image result for smoking cigarettesImage result for porn starImage result for teens in the militaryImage result for drinking alcohol
My primary point today is about how at the age of 18 in the USA you are considered an "adult"... minus the maturity factor for most teenagers, the real age of adulthood should be at least 21, which brings me full circle to my overall point. Why is it that at the age of 18 you can legally smoke cigarettes, become a PORN STAR, and legally DIE for your country in the military... but you aren't allowed to drink alcohol by those same standards.
Who set these standards? Who decided that at 18 years old you are good enough to manipulate and use for porn or the military? What freaks me out is that there are always young people willing to do these things. Now I'm not saying that 21 is the end all, be all age for young people cause it's NOT. However, I do have a strong conviction that if you are good enough to DIE for this nation and it's preservation of freedoms, shouldn't we allow those same individuals a vice for their woes? Cause it's not really just the ability to go die, but also the ability to go to war and KILL others as well. Now we have 18-19 year olds with PTSD... and they can't legally get a beer.

Moving on, at 18 you are old enough to sell your body. Let's be honest, the ONLY thing different from PORN and PROSTITUTION is that there is a camera rolling. You're still getting paid for sex. Not sure how one is legal and the other is not, but that might be a topic for another blog. Meanwhile, you can dehumanize yourself, pimp yourself out, and swallow a bunch of huge cocks, or maybe be one of the stunt cocks... but you are legally not allowed to drink alcohol. WTF?!?
Lastly, I am NOT saying that I want a bunch of irresponsible teenagers running around drinking alcohol with loose inhibitions... we already have enough of that. My point was only the fallacy of logic that if  you are old enough for some vices, perhaps the legal age for ALL of the things I mentioned should be 21.
It's a lot of food for thought and I thank you for joining me in this pursuit of deep thought and knowledge. This has been the one and only Quiet Mouse.

American Conservatism

Once we recognize that Libertarianism is essentially neo-feudalism, and that it is now the dominant conservative philosophy of the Republica...
