FAKE-book, the Truth about Social Media and Its Users

It occurred to me recently about how fake people are to one another. This is especially true on social media platforms like Facebook, but also true in life, in general.  Jump with me down this rabbit hole and let's see where it leads...

In retrospect, it occurs to me that people don't want to hear the truth or see the ugly side of things. When we take pictures, we have to get the "best one" that portrays this glossed over fantasy so we can portray to others how wonderful we want our image to the world to be. Everything is scrutinized: every post, every sentence, every emoji, and every word.

It's no wonder to me that there is so much more depression since the advent of social media. The ambition to portray a life without "negativity or negative emotion" is exhausting. What's more depressing is that one can no longer have normal conversations with others because if your life and attitude is anything other than peachy, folks just shut you down, ridicule you, or flat out ignore you... because it doesn't fit into the bubble of cognitive dissonance where folks want to pretend that the world is anything other than sad and cruel.

It's gotten to the point where you can't even post your own opinions and thoughts without someone deciding they need to justify their comfort zone bubble by questioning the motivations of others.
Like Sigmund Freud said, "Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar."

At the end of the day, the problems of the world aren't going to go away by burying our heads in the sand and ignoring things or hoping and praying they will go away, in lieu of this fantasy land image of the "perfect life" that no one I personally know actually lives. People are people, with problems, emotions, thoughts, and desires. To deny those aspects of what makes us human IS what is leading to so much anger, resentment, depression (AND suicide), social rebellion, and the keeping up with the Joneses.
When it's all said and done I would rather be alone than surrounded by fake people or have a "friend" list on FAKE-BOOK social media full of people that don't give a shit about me or my thoughts; my knowledge.

American Conservatism

Once we recognize that Libertarianism is essentially neo-feudalism, and that it is now the dominant conservative philosophy of the Republica...
