Namaste and thank you for joining me today. I just want to post a quick, short blog about the late Roddy Piper who passed away this week in an untimely death at the age of 61.
Roddy Piper was an icon in the wrestling business and even did some acting work in the kick ass movie (possible documentary) called "They Live". He may be remembered most for his fights with Mr. T and Hulk Hogan in the WWF, but his best line ever was...
His in ring persona was one of being the heel, or bad guy and he was certainly one of the best that WWE had ever seen grace the squared ring. His long running segment of "Piper's Pit", a talk show that interviewed wrestlers and television personalities, was the most iconic talk show segment in WWE history. Others like Chris Jericho and the Miz have tried to emulate his style and persona with their own talk show segments, but they couldn't come close to the style and ego of the rowdy one himself. I personally don't know much about him as a person, but his wrestling gimmick and in ring presence will always be remembered by true wrestling fans around the world. Roddy Piper, sir, you will be missed.
