I HAVE A DREAM... MLK Jr.

"Of all the forms of inequality, injustice in health care is the most shocking and inhumane"
"A nation that continues year after year to spend more money on military defense than on programs of social uplift is approaching spiritual doom. "
Martin Luther King, Jr.

Welcome my friends to a special edition of the Quite Mouse Strikes Back. We have come a long way and have received almost 1000 page views from all around the world. The issue today is HEALTH CARE, which is a truly GLOBAL issue that affects ALL OF US, equally. So sit down, buckle up, and get ready as I explore this issue in depth.
Thank you to all who contributed ideas and inspirations for this blog on my face book threads. Let's jump in with both feet...

I agree with the fact that a "for profit" health care system is the antithesis of actually RECEIVING quality treatment. First I would like to talk about that: how we treat one another as Americans by posing a question...
Are we really FREE?

I want to start my answer by citing Amendment 4 of our bill of rights:

Amendment IV

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

Now, I understand that this is meant for a grander purpose than just the health care, but I wanted to cite the first part of the paragraph in particular. "The right of the people to be secure in their persons..."
The reason I cite this is that I personally believe that we have LOST this right as Americans, in the example of inadequate health care, invasive policement of our person and homes, and un-constitutional, unhealthy TSA screenings.

The idea for health and other forms of insurance came from the NIXON administration, ergo, the beginning of the modern fall of ROME. We lost the "gold standard" as well during that time, so the ONLY thing backing our currency is FAITH as an American people. Faith in something that is NOT tangible. Faith in a system that is corrupt, immoral, and by far GREEDY.

How can we be expected to keep the faith in this system that has plundered, raped, and pillaged from the very soul of its inhabitants who are the BACKBONE of this nation? I have asked before and I will ask yet again: "What has to happen for YOU to stand up and demand change?"
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. had a dream. He did speak of the plight against people of color, but his REAL message was universal. ALL men and women being equal in the eyes of God.
"We must forever conduct our struggle on the high plane of dignity and discipline. We must not allow our creative protest to degenerate into physical violence. Again and again we must rise to the majestic heights of meeting physical force with soul force..."

"When will you be satisfied?" We can never be satisfied as long as our bodies, heavy with the fatigue of travel, cannot gain lodging in the motels of the highways and the hotels of the cities. We cannot be satisfied as long as the Negro's basic mobility is from a smaller ghetto to a larger one. We can never be satisfied as long as a Negro in Mississippi cannot vote and a Negro in New York believes he has nothing for which to vote. No, no, we are not satisfied, and we will not be satisfied until justice rolls down like waters and righteousness like a mighty stream.

When Dr. King spoke these eloquent words, he did so with a fervor and passion that is lacking in American society today. Too many people are AFRAID in their own skin to even leave their own home, hoping and praying for a change that will NEVER come... UNLESS... unless we leave our homes, take to the streets, and DEMAND action from those that would lead us to suffering and despair. All for the bottom line of greedy, blood PROFIT, the true FACE of America.

Over the last week I have heard many voices on the wrongs and rights of the health care CRISIS facing this ONCE GREAT nation. Let's see some pros and cons of this new health care reform bill passed by Obama.

Health Care Bill PROS:
1. Discrimination of health insurance companies will be eliminated. No more pre-existing conditions clauses in health insurance contracts.
2. Given the fact that millions of Americans will be insured by this new health care bill, the US Government can negotiate among health insurance firms to lower the premiums of their health insurance. This would mean less health insurance costs for a lot of Americans.
3. Tax credit will be given to those Americans who still cannot afford to avail health insurance to help them to have one.
4. Stiff competition among health insurance firms will possibly result to much lower insurance costs and more quality health insurance products and services.
5. Aside from the elimination of pre-existing conditions stated above, the coverage amount or sum insured will also be waived by health insurers.

Health Care Bill CONS:
1. Given the huge amount of expenses pegged at $940 billion in a spread of about 10 years, it might slow down the growth of heavily burdened US economy.
2. Insurance Availment Mandate. You have no choice but to get a health insurance. Otherwise, you will be subjected to a 2% tax increase which will be used to subsidize the insurance costs of other Americans. Healthy people who take care of themselves will have to pay for the burden of those who smoke, are obese, etc.
3. There will be a tax increase on people with very high income. If you are making more than half a million per annum, you will have about a 1% tax increase.
4. The US Government will have more control in the health insurance industry causing patients’ confidentiality to be more likely compromised since centralized health information will likely be maintained by the government.
5. Chances of bribery may possibly increase as health care equipment, drugs, and services may end up being rationed by the government.
Friends have told me about their doctors abandoning patients out of FEAR of this new legislation. There is a likely chance that Emergency Rooms will be flooded with patients that cannot afford this "mandatory" insurance. The state of ER's across this country is a disorderly affair. They are understaffed at most times, burdened with myocardial infarctions from our over indulged, obese society. Burdened with the non-insured, sometimes ILLEGAL immigrants who cannot afford health care on their SLAVE wages, nor the rest of us for that matter.
And I empathize with people who see the flaws in the system and are fearful of a government ran health care system. But here's the problem folks... While you and I are busy complaining about OUR taxes, the solution is actually simpler than imagined. The issue is NOT weather we need to pay more individual taxes, but that we need to get more INDIVIDUALS to pay their taxes, period.
The insurance system, to my understanding, is based upon having enough people pooling the money into the resource so EVERYONE can be covered. Why do we feel as Americans that we need to be selfish and NOT pay our fair share, let alone the cost of covering EVERYONE. Quite simply put, if we could get MORE people, LEGALLY into the system, i.e. illegal immigrants, to pay their taxes, then we would NOT be facing these issues. Secondly, we NEED to have proper PREVENTATIVE MEDICINE practices in this country... and I'm NOT talking about that POISON they have been injecting us with for "immunizations".
I was trained in the medical field in the Navy. I have worked in both the military and civilian medical fields, am currently going to school for nursing, so I have been inside the belly of the beast and seen MANY examples of where the system has gone systemically wrong.
The first place it has gone wrong is GREED. From when I was a child, I remember growing up with doctors being treated like ROCK STARS! It was always KNOWN that doctors got paid good money to do what they do, despite long hard hours, and often grueling working conditions. Here's the thing about some doctors. There is a split in the MD community. Some ARE there for the genuine concern of all their patients, seeking to provide ALL that they can, even at the LOSS of their own profit... on the flip side of the coin, there ARE many other doctors, who desire to embrace this ROCKSTAR mentality, and seek to maximize profits, even at a potential patient loss. I have seen this many times, especially during my time working as a surgical tech.
One thing I have noticed emphatically is that the amount of money that insurance companies, including the gov't ran Medicare and Medicaid... well, to put it simply, the COST of the doctors to do business keeps going UP, and the pay keeps going DOWN as the insurance companies make all the PROFIT, while doctors are going belly up. I repeat, it is NOT, in most situations (private doctors like plastic surgeons and cash pay patients not counting toward my argument)  the doctors making the money any longer!! It is the INSURANCE COMPANIES THAT ARE CUTTING A FAT HOG. It is BLOOD MONEY, made off the pain and suffering of the masses.
What are the reasons for this hyper-inflation in health care costs?
To be honest, MOST of the rise in cost is from ADMINISTRATION cost. It doesn't cost much more than it used to for a pack of sponges or gauze rolls. Health care workers are often NOT paid what they are worth, for example, EMT's and ambulance workers are often paid below standard wages, barely above minimum wage. Who's really making the money?
The INSURANCE COMPANIES of course. For years now, THEY have dictated to YOU, the patient, who you can see, what drugs you can get, what treatments you can receive, etc...
They do this because, as I wrote at the top of this blog, because FOR PROFIT health care CANNOT EXIST without someone getting SCREWED OVER. All THEY have to do is pay off our presidential candidates, BUY up smaller companies, and squeeze the lifeblood out of all of us. THEY do not worry about the rise in health care because  THEY are greedy toads, lacking the soul to help their fellow human beings. If they will not help us, then WE must stand together and help OURSELVES!! Don't you think?
Let me cite another example... the last place I worked at back in Plano, TX. The three doctors that owned the building/surgery center I worked at were some of the most vile and greedy people I have ever met. They performed all kinds of fraud toward the insurance system, gov't moneys, as well as the tax system. Ultimately, they RAN THE BUSINESS INTO THE GROUND, putting many people out of jobs... and why? So they could claim a LOSS on their taxes and avoid having to pay out monies of legality to one of the brother's divorce claim, where the ex-wife would get half... can't get half of a LOSS, now can you? The reason I am citing this is because of a couple reasons. 1) I personally witnessed these doctors perform what is known as "ghost" surgery. For those who do NOT know... this is where they tell you that one doctor is going to perform your surgical procedure, but once you are gassed and knocked out, someone ELSE actually does the work. 2) I have seen them withhold medical procedures NEEDED by the patient, because the insurance would not cover. 3) I have seen these same men charge the insurance companies for procedures that were NOT performed, while padding their own pocket books.
I am sure it is nice to have court side tickets to the Dallas Mavericks basketball games, or 50 yard line tickets for the Cowboys football games... but ALL of these things have come at the price of the PATIENT. They come at a price to ALL OF US who threw our money into the insurance pool. You must understand that THEY, as doctors, are trying to re-make they money and profits that THEY have LOST from the insurance companies due to the EVER-INCREASING cost of MALPRACTICE INSURANCE.
I am fully aware of the issue with doctors cheating their patients and they system! I am fully aware that honest people DON'T want to pay higher premiums or pay for the care of someone else who could potentially be getting better treatment than them (NOT LIKELY). However, as a nation, we have GOT TO STOP suing other people!!
It doesn't matter how much you got fucked over, suing someone over ANYTHING, ONLY SPEEDS UP THE INFLATION OF COSTS!! THEY have to make up their profit margins. This is NOT a lottery! EVERY TIME someone sues the medical system, the systemic rise in costs is paramount to the cost that THEY had to pay out millions of dollars on a lawsuit. STOP suing!! It is ONLY making your costs go up, OUR costs go UP UP UP!!!
Now as far as a government ran nation-wide health care plan goes, I understand the concerns as well. Take a look at my blog about the VA and how badly the veterans of this nation are inadequately treated. Why on Earth would ANYONE want to buy into a system that is already being ran so POORLY?
Here's the deal on the VA... it is NOT about it being ran by the Gov't!! It is about the misappropriations of the Gov't, giving BILLIONS and TRILLIONS of dollars to the Department of Defense to fight "FOR PROFIT" WARS. Companies like Halliburton are making huge profits!!
We CAN afford adequate health care for all Americans... IF we weren't funding TERROR across the world. We could afford adequate education for all of our citizens... IF we weren't trillions of dollars in debt while we unsuccessfully try to POLICE THE WORLD (which by the way... the other nations DON'T WANT US THERE IN THE FIRST PLACE). We owe CHINA soooo much money now.
The cost of health care and war has crippled the American economy quite possibly BEYOND REPAIR. Like my cousin Jason said, it IS simple economics. You CANNOT spend MORE than you bring in.
You want ANSWERS!! I have them... you might not like what I have to say, though. Hope you are ready.
1) Put a spending FREEZE on ALL government employees for the next 6 years (at least). It is INSANE that they are making hundreds of thousands of dollars per year while the average citizen makes pennies by comparison. Plus, they get health care included in their salaries.
2) We need to have a comprehensive reform on immigration, both legal and ILLEGAL. We need to set up a plan to get these ILLEGAL citizens into a LEGAL status, so they can be made to pay TAXES too, rather than being a constant LEECH to the system that already CANNOT AFFORD to pay for them.
3) WE must take steps toward comprehensive health care reform:
a) first by shifting our focus away from Emergency Care to preventative care, this includes those end of life discussions, as well as proper nutrition plans, proper regulation of the food and drug industry, as well as IMMEDIATE regulation over the poisonous immunization industry (lead, mercury, and other toxins have been found in these shots)
- On a side note about the end of life physician discussions... These are NOT "death panels". Suggesting your patient is aware of the critical and necessary End of Life care alternatives, not only does it save on EMOTIONAL damage, but it also will save countless amounts of money in the long run, both in health care costs, but also legal fees. If you know it is coming, then you can set your affairs in order, talk to your family about your posthumous wishes...
b) We need to take examples from Asian nations like Japan, where the citizens actually exercise as part of their work day on the job. Preventative health care is MEANINGLESS if we continue to poison our bodies with McDonald's, sodas, and other poisons, like High Fructose Corn Syrup (or corn sugar... as they cleverly want to disguise it)
c) We NEED to demand the subsidizing of FRUITS and VEGETABLES over CORN, IMMEDIATELY!!! This is to include a change in school lunches, which I am very happy that Michelle Obama is tackling that issue right now.
4) We must END these WARS in Afghanistan, Iraq, and other places we DO NOT belong. It is INSANE that we have military bases in over 100 other countries, many of whom do NOT want us there in the first place!!
5) We NEED MORE, not LESS institutions like Planned Parenthood. The gov't has been and could easily spend more money on a program that would offer free- to low cost STERILIZATION. Women need to get their tubes tied if they have too many kids to feed. Men need to STOP being unfit fathers and sticking their dicks in every woman they meet, especially unprotected. The EASIEST way to stop these unwanted or un-needed pregnancies is to eliminate the ability to spread the seed. There are ALREADY almost 7 billion people on this planet consuming up the world's resources faster than they can be replenished.
6) We NEED, as parents, to talk to our children about the REAL issues of sex, which are unplanned pregnancies and STD's. This goes into the preventative care issue. The social welfare system is overwhelmed with single, unfit mothers and fathers that are NOT paying their child support. This has to STOP!!
7) We need to, globally, repair our image as a nation by providing an example of our real freedom. If WE can reduce our nuclear weapons and cease the war-mongering, we could save BILLIONS of dollars annually.
8) We MUST end the prohibition on CANNABIS or Marijuana as well as HEMP, the industrial product. The end of this prohibition would save the gov't, once again, BILLIONS of dollars, not only in the cost of policement that would be saved, but the taxable revenue as well.
a) The Hemp plant is VITAL to the efforts of creating a more sustainable country as well as planet. We MUST shift our focus away from the deadly and hazardous petrochemical institution which we live that POISONS everything from the food we eat, the water we drink, to the air we breathe
b) the Hemp plant is 100% usable unlike cotton which is only 50% usable and requires MASSIVE AMOUNTS OF PESTICIDES, HERBICIDES, AND FUNGICIDES from evil companies like Monsanto
9) We need to adopt the mindset like the Europeans have done with GENETICALLY MODIFIED FOODS!! These foods are NOT safe for human consumption and we need to DEMAND stronger laws AGAINST THE SALE and marketing of them, IMMEDIATELY!!
10) We NEED to reform the tax system in this country as well. Forget the refunds, forget the loopholes. We NEED a tax system that is  both FAIR and ENCOMPASSING. We NEED a system that takes the revenues from the taxes and actually USES them to run the gov't more efficiently, environmentally conscious, and FOR THE PEOPLE, NOT the corporate interests, who see us as mere sheep or cattle.
11) We NEED to give MORE incentives for small business owners to be able to set up shop, function efficiently, and provide a decent wage + health care for employees
What is the point of all of this, you might be wondering...
The point is that despite what you may think, YOU ARE ALREADY PAYING for EVERYONE ELSE to get adequate health care. It would cost little to NO more if we would all just contribute the same amount, legally. It IS our responsibility to make sure that children and seniors are afforded proper health care. When you are elderly, YOU will want a handout too!! Social Security IS important. Medicare IS important. All WE need to do is demand the reform that is necessary BEFORE it bankrupts our nation.
Again, I am gonna ask what I asked earlier in this blog. What will it take for YOU as a person to stand up and DEMAND the fairness and EQUALITY that Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. advocated for so many years ago? You don't have to be black or another minority for this issue to affect you to the core. There are many many white people who cannot afford this either. There CAN be a resolution. There CAN be an adequate health care system for all to share.
Hell, if countries like Cuba and Venezuela... countries that WE have labeled as "socialistic", can have health care for ALL their citizens at a fraction of the cost... WHY can't we? Even Canada has better health care than we do, as I have been told by Canadian citizens. If you want a procedure faster than the system can allow and it is NOT emergent, then by all means PAY FOR IT out of your own pocket. Of ALL the forms of healthcare that I have seen and read about, it seems to me that TRICARE, the military hospital care system, is ran the MOST efficiently. LOOK IT UP... we could all take an example from that. As much as we look down our nose at socialized medicine... that's EXACTLY what military medicine IS... socialized medicine. If we could ONLY get away from our OWN egos and think about the collective GOOD of ALL HUMAN BEINGS rather than our own SELFISH INTERESTS (which make us NO BETTER than the corporations that steal from us), then I think one simple truth...
YES WE STILL CAN!!
Then and only then can we get past those troublesome issues of pre-screened medical care. Ridiculous profiteering Insurance pyramid scams are un-American, anti-Constitutional, and are INHUMAN by nature.
What kind of world do you want YOUR children growing up? A selfish, immoral one? Or rather one of kindness, empathy, and compassion?
Write your congress men and women!! Write your Governors and President!! Do ANYTHING but sit on your ASS and complain my friends!! Join with many others on 4/20/2011 at your capitol buildings in EVERY state and demand social change, not JUST in the change of CANNABIS laws, but in HEALTH CARE, WAR, IMMIGRATION, and ALL other pertinent issues. The ONLY way change is EVER gonna happen is if we LEAVE OUR HOMES and march in the streets to demand change!! THEY tend to notice things like that!!
Change is NOT something to FEAR, but it IS something to EMBRACE. If we keep doing the same things that have ALWAYS been done, then we will KEEP getting the same things we have always GOT. We must EVOLVE as a human race to meet the cultural demands for the future... NOT the demands for technology, but the demands for EQUALITY, despite social class or financial wealth!! Dr. King... please illuminate for me...
I say to you today, my friends, that in spite of the difficulties and frustrations of the moment, I still have a dream. It is a dream deeply rooted in the American dream.
I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: "We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created equal."
I have a dream that one day on the red hills of Georgia the sons of former slaves and the sons of former slave owners will be able to sit down together at a table of brotherhood.
I have a dream that one day even the state of Mississippi, a desert state, sweltering with the heat of injustice and oppression, will be transformed into an oasis of freedom and justice.
I have a dream that my four children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.
I have a dream today.
I have a dream that one day the state of Alabama, whose governor's lips are presently dripping with the words of interposition and nullification, will be transformed into a situation where little black boys and black girls will be able to join hands with little white boys and white girls and walk together as sisters and brothers.
I have a dream today.
I have a dream that one day every valley shall be exalted, every hill and mountain shall be made low, the rough places will be made plain, and the crooked places will be made straight, and the glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together.
This is our hope. This is the faith with which I return to the South. With this faith we will be able to hew out of the mountain of despair a stone of hope. With this faith we will be able to transform the jangling discords of our nation into a beautiful symphony of brotherhood. With this faith we will be able to work together, to pray together, to struggle together, to go to jail together, to stand up for freedom together, knowing that we will be free one day.
This will be the day when all of God's children will be able to sing with a new meaning, "My country, 'tis of thee, sweet land of liberty, of thee I sing. Land where my fathers died, land of the pilgrim's pride, from every mountainside, let freedom ring."

This IS the Quiet Mouse! Let FREEDOM ring!! Today, I too have a dream!!
PEACE. LOVE. RESPECT. EMPATHY. CHANGE.

A Lesson In Acceptance

"Since we cannot get what we like, let us LIKE what we can get."
I'm not sure where I picked up this quote, cause I just wrote it down on a piece of paper. I believe it is from one of my school textbooks, but I failed to write down the voice of this quote, or a reference source. For that I do apologize in advance.

What drives us in this life?
This is the Quiet Mouse. Welcome to my blog. Some have joined me before as I have tried to analyze the world I see and live among. For those are virgin to my rants: welcome, I hope you are here with an open mind.

To the question above... What is it that drives us and motivates us?
Is it family or friends?
Church or state?
Or some other form of inner passion that ignites the fuel for being?
I do not know what motivates others. I have blogged recently about what is currently motivating me.
But for this blog I would like to digress a little, turn back the clock if you will, and reflect on the lessons learned from the past.
Many years ago and still to this day, I have fought with materialism. Although my habits have changed slightly, it occurs to me that my life has been rather fortunate and blessed. It hasn't always been easy, but there have been a few more good days than bad ones, I would say. I believe that it takes adversity for humans to have a stark contrast and to fully appreciate the "good times".
I recall many people in my past stressing upon me to accept what I have in life rather than to constantly pine for something I don't have. The grass ISN"T always greener on the other side of the fence, I have found. Sometimes it is...
I reflect upon this because I see it as a small microcosm of the societal issue that we have as Americans in this day and age. Through my reading, especially with the Intercultural Communication class I am taking presently, I have read further thought provoking information. It occurs to me that the reason there is this urge is continually buy and buy things that we don't really need is partly due to the CONSTANT media advertisement that we just have to have the newest, fastest, smartest little toys to play with. I'll admit I am a movie junkie. I love film. I like watching movies, especially on blu-ray. Another reason we feel the need to be materialistic is to fill an emotional void inside us. In this country we have an ironic paradox in thought process... we all sense that a change is coming, yet most of us plan nothing. We all can FEEL the need for togetherness and unity, but we over-emphasize the need for INDIVIDUALITY and our own "STUFF".
In my life I am trying to find acceptance for the things I cannot control. I am trying to find happiness in the little things rather than TRYING to find happiness in objects that are innate and have no control over MY life, but what I give them. Happiness is really just a human construct. A word to summarize the small amounts of joy and pleasure we receive. Happiness used to be a thing, an idea that came from within. Ancient people didn't have all the modern conveniences that we do, but despite all the advantages that we have, too many of us are constantly UNHAPPY... so we fill the void with cell phones, text messages, and social websites like Face Book and Twitter (as if our every movement throughout the day needs to be meticulously documented.
"Hey, I'm taking a shit now!" LMAO! We fill that void also with television, laptop computers and anything and everything BUT love and togetherness.

It is a slow process of recovery from a materialistic ADDICTION. It takes patience and time. I am learning the former and have plenty of the latter. I still feel the urge to buy stuff, but don't feel as bad when it's baking supplies or books that will grow my knowledge, a truly priceless thing.
I have been introduced lately to a new idea for me of "radical acceptance". Here is a quick overview from ehow.com

Radical acceptance is the practice of accepting life on its own terms and finding effective strategies to cope with whatever is happening. It doesn't mean being passive, but accepting "what is" with the understanding that you have the power of choice. Practicing radical acceptance is a choice that can ease stress and depression and enhance your overall quality of life.

To me this means taking things for granted is a no no. Its not just about accepting, but also about taking responsibility. I am happy to have my fellow readers and truth-seekers with me on this cosmic journey. Thank you all who have taken the time to read this, and other blogs I have written. The spread of a positive message isn't always my best suited talent, but I will continue to try... I just need some more followers and more feedback so I can continue to improve my blogs.

Good night and good luck!

Damn It's COLD!!! Hawaiian Dreams...

Hello all my winter bound friends, once again it is THE Quiet Mouse. Yep its me once again, ready to speak some peace about this weather. I know that most of my readers live in the Northern Hemisphere of this planet, for those who DO live in the Southern Hemisphere, just hang with me on this one.

Have you all been outside lately? I have been told that this weather that you and I call winter is "normal", but I feel violated by the cold air when I go outside. Even up here in the Northwest part of the country it's pretty nippy. I am thankful for being on this side of the Cascades where we don't get very much, if any rain. And I KNOW that people in the Northern central states like Minnesota, Montana, all the way down to Kansas it SNOWS very intensely.
Here's my problem. I may have grew up briefly in Kansas, but moved south down to Oklahoma, cold, but a little milder. After school in OK, moved down to Dallas and the winter there is very mild compared to Oklahoma, Kansas, and even Washington state. When I was in the Navy, I was stationed in San Diego, CA and Jacksonville FL. Both of those cities were very nice to live in for weather, although SD was better :) sorry Jax.
The weather is forecasting SNOW for tomorrow HERE. It has gotten rather frigid out there this afternoon and is supposed to cool down even further before the night is through, apparently down to like 28 degrees I believe.
I can feel my nuts crawling back up inside me like George from that episode of Seinfeld, although I ain't going NEAR the pool.
My balls are like "hey, we love ya, but FUCK THIS SHIT, its COLD, we're out of here. Deuces!"

Okay, so since I got it off my chest about how ridiculously cold I feel being basically a "Southern" boy in a strange, almost foreign land of permafrost and icy rain... there I go being all dramatic again. Must be my "Manstruation" LMAO...

What I REALLY want to talk about is my dreams. I admittedly haven't done too much talking about my inner ambitions. Partly this is due to the fact that most of the time I am trying to bring to conscious perception societal issues that need to be addressed, or some other social greivance. What do you want to know ;)
hahaha... this blog is specific. Ya'll getting me distracted again.
My dream, over and over, from a very young age has been the island state of Hawaii!!!

Have ya been? Do you as well dream of living somewhere that is actually WARM during the American and Northern Hemisphere winter? Anyone besides me also dream of growing my OWN ORGANIC foods: fruits, vegetables, livestock?

Maybe many of you dream about the luau on the beach? Aloha my friends. Dream your reality into existence. THAT'S MY GOAL!!
And THIS is Hawaii during the American winter!!

What a magical place!! Well, I don't know what drives you or motivates you, but THIS is what is keeping my body hot and the energy of my "machine" burning. I AM gonna make it through Nursing school. I AM gonna move to the big island once I'm a nurse. Since I am a Veteran of the Navy, I don't think they'll deny me a VA home loan if I am a nurse making good money. All will be welcome to visit. If they give me enough land, maybe you could come live on my land and help me grow my fruit trees, organic vegetables and medical cannabis :D ???
Here are a few more images for your eye candy pleasure. I am happy to be working toward a goal now, FINALLY!! I know I am a work in progress, not 100% where I would like to be, I still have a lot of personal issues I am working through with the VA.
My point is that happiness IS attainable. Some set their dreams low, some set them HIGH! Raise the bar in your own life and join me on my journey, it's HERE and NOW :)

Hope all of you enjoy the snow and the actual 4 seasons. I'd be fine with just 1...

Pawn Stars? Or Reality TV Trash?

I don't know how many people have cable. My guess is most of you reading this blog. I don't know how many hours a day you watch TV. I don't know what channels you watch and I really am not too concerned. I just have a beef with this one particular style of TV show that really pisses me off.
This is the Quiet Mouse, follow me down the rabbit hole once again as I open your mind to the REAL world. You don't even have to take the red pill... just keep reading :)

It is just my opinion, as with many other issues that I blog about. So keep your pantyhose on, the rides only gonna be bumpy for a minute... the Quiet Mouse will lead you through the Wonderland of the Matrix without too many scratches and bruises... maybe?

In my personal opinion, shows like this Pawn Stars are the biggest insult to television since Sarah Palin was given a minute of airtime to breathe hot air into the microphone.
I can hear the muttering, but we don't have time right now for that... get back to ya in a minute...

When did it become such a modern icon of televisionography for this crap to get aired? It is shameful and quite immoral for this shit to be sensationalized in ANY way. I can sorta understand people who are hoarders sell their JUNK, but people are on here selling some serious stuff.
I think it is pretty bad right now the way the economy is, with a lot of people out of work, trying to get by and feed their families, by any means necessary to put food on the table. I empathize my brothers and sisters, I do. I feel your pain. I have been homeless before. Wasn't fun, but I got through it.
Back to subject, what amazes me, I suppose, is people's ability to justify almost ANYTHING for $$CASH$$!! I think most Americans WOULD sell their own Grandma for a few bucks. There SHOULDN'T be a price on your personal being. We are PRICELESS. You can't BUY me. You can RENT me though, for a decent wage and some ACTUAL benefits. Most people, however are willing to sell themselves ALL the way down to the soul, for VERY VERY CHEAP!!

Did you at least get something GOOD for $$selling$$ your soul?
Maybe I'm being a little melodramatic? I'll think about that while you think about this:
What do you need to buy so badly that you had to sell your grandma's wedding ring that she got handed down to her through the generations all the way back to Europe, Africa, Australia, South America, Asia or wherever... I'm not white, so I gotta throw in the variety there, because we are ALL ONE people.

Back to my point. People are selling like OLD family heirlooms, cars, jewelry, old movies, guns, and lots of other stuff for pennies on the dollar of what their real value is.
I DO believe that the things you own have a way of owning YOU, however, for my point, I don't think it is right for people to sell their family heirlooms or rare collectibles to a PAWNSHOP dude who is rolling in an expensive Cadillac and wearing a leather suit. If he acts like a PIMP... word.... he probably is one. You done pimped your shit to this giggalo. He's running ho's out the back man, for real... or probably something heavier like cocaine.

Back BEFORE the over-sensationalization of Pawn Stars, think back with me on this one... think real hard... if you were born before 1990, you would know that Pawn Shops AND their owners are SCUMBAGS!! They will rape you for the cost of your collectible whatever. If they can turn it around and charge 3 or 4 times as much he payed your sucker ass for. Aught to make you feel like Elmer Fudd in the Loony Toons when bugs played him like a fool and he momentarily looks like a donkey or a lollipop. He made you look like an ASS or a SUCKER!!
I may or may not have said this before, but here it is now. Before you throw your shit away and piss into the wind, maybe you could try changing your tactics.
If you are out of work, you need to think about changing something about yourself to be MORE employable. If you are not working, I bet you could find a free or low charge class to attend for 1 afternoon on how to be successful or something. I know times are tough, but go back to school. Don't sell your junk on television show to a viper pit of con-artists and pimps. If you DO just feel so compelled, sell your shit on craigslist or Amazon. Get a proper amount for your possessions. OR... I have a better idea... STOP BUYING A BUNCH OF NEW SHIT! We have a problem in this country with too much shit! We're full of shit, we're talking shit, we're taking a shit, we're shooting the shit, we're up shit creek... that's a lot of shit. Just like this supposed "reality" television that is designed to distract you, once again, from the Matrix of illusion and take away your free thought, ingenuity, artistic expression, and individuality.

Turn the channel!! Better yet, TURN THE TV OFF!! Lets go outside and play again like we did when we were younger. Let's let go of a few worries that we CANNOT CONTROL. Let's live TODAY like it's our "Bucket List" (Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman movie) and STOP throwing our lives away.

This has been the Quiet Mouse. Thank you to all my brothers and sisters from all Nations of this beautiful planet. May the universal creator look kindly upon you and bless you with enough prosperity to feed you and your family, to put a roof over your head and clean clothing on your back, and a strong body to carry out your daily tasks.
Peace. Love. Respect. Integrity. Honor. Empathy.

Driving For Dummies

Welcome back my friends. This is the Quiet Mouse doing a follow up blog to the popular "Driving and Shopping". I didn't want to really have to go there again, but it seems like I need to. Lets get started. For those that don't remember or did not read the previous blog.... GO READ IT, DANG!!
For those that do remember and DID read it, then you know how I made the analogy between the rules of the road and the rules of the grocery store. They ARE the same. Remember: STAY ON THE RIGHT!!

So to avoid the point of redundancy, today I would like to talk about the pedal next to the accelerator, and for those who drive a manual transmission, it's between the clutch and accelerator... figure it out?
The BRAKES!! Well, more specifically, the overuse of the brake pedal.
I am quite confident that we've all been down the road and been behind that really slow a$$hole who is camped out, la di dah, in the fast lane. What is worse is that periodically, this menace to the road will unannounced and unexpectedly jam on the brakes. This person will hit the brakes when there is no other car in front of the vehicle for at least a couple hundred feet.
You could land a JUMBO FREAKING JET in between this jackwad's car and the next one in front of it!!
What's up with the braking buddy? Then I look over, once I have to pass on the right and it's a 70+ year old woman with glaucoma and cataracts with 4 inch thick coke-bottle glasses who can barely even see over the steering wheel. Go home and smoke some grass, Grandma!!

The point is that traffic can be dangerous when there are too many TIMID people on the road. Driving is specifically geared for type A personalities. They are the ones who rule the road. Keep up or TAKE THE FREAKING BUS!! There is NO ROOM for weak stomachs on THIS ride!

My next point will probably offend a few people, but so what? Get a fat straw and suck it up. I'm sure that the majority of my readers are adults. This isn't a PG-13 blog! It is R, as in restricted.
I'm gonna call you out now. You don't have to stand up or raise your hand, I know who you are and so do you. If you have to look side to side to figure out who I'm talking about... it's probably YOU!
All you sissy suckers with NO sense of direction who can't even remember street names or simple directions to a place you've already been a thousand times: WTF is up with the excessive use of GPS? Are you really that keen on Uncle Sam's cracker ass monitoring your every position from an outer space satellite?
But even beyond the illegal and unconstitutional spying issue (which there is one)... YOU are the people slowing down the traffic as well!! Don't you get it? While you are busy playing with your neat little toy, rather than using your senses, you are DISTRACTED from driving while you are staring at the dashboard.
How bout we try this really simple idea, okay? Look UP and READ the signs to see where you are going.
"Don't you think you're being a little harsh, Quiet Mouse?"
Huh? Oh I was distracted and didn't hear ya... over your 10,000 decibel sound system that is sh-sh-sh-shaking the shit out of my POS car.

Okay, okay... I WILL ADMIT that in certain places the road signs are NOT as readable or visible as they should be. Things like this happen when you allow other people like the TEA PARTY to convince you that you DON'T need to pay your taxes. About half this country isn't paying them (??)
Guess that's why we can't pay our teachers or road maintenance workers, but I'm sure that'll be the topic of yet ANOTHER blog ;)
Perhaps I am misunderstanding of things? You see, I still remember when we did NOT have life's little conveniences like cell phones and GPS. I remember when you were happy to have some peace and quiet time during the day when the phone wasn't bleep bleep, bleepety bleeping all the damn time. Coming home to check the answering machine used to be fun. Anyone still remember the times when things were simpler? When we didn't ALWAYS have to be plugged into the Matrix. We didn't ALWAYS NEED the thought police to tell us where to go and what to do... do you remember?
Throw me a bone here folks. This wasn't that long ago. It wasn't in a galaxy far far away. We aren't living in the dark ages any longer. Has the social ADD gotten us so far gone from REALITY that we have forgotten not only where we have came from, but also where we are GOING? Besides ME... does anyone know how to read a MAP any longer?
What happened to Geography class? The majority of Americans don't even know where they are in THIS country let alone our place in this ever shrinking planet we live on. Do you know where China is? Europe?
That's where all of our jobs are going... might do you some good to find out if you don't know my friends!

My point is that we have made things MORE difficult with technology and ignorance than they ever needed to be in the first place. As I stated before: put DOWN the cell phone while driving. Put away your eyelash curlers and makeup. Get  your thumb out of your butt and your finger out of your nose and get with the program. Eat breakfast, lunch, dinner, or 4th meal, whatever, BEFORE you start driving. The least you have to worry about is the inevitable heartburn you're gonna get from that greasy drive-thru dollar menu mystery meat sandwich you just bought. Or the diarrhea you'll get from the day past expiration mayonnaise they gobbed on it, lol.
Getting off subject... Let's recap the main points here:
1) Stay in the RIGHT lane!
 2) DECELERATE rather than needlessly jam on the brakes. One false brake movement will cause a chain of braking behind and all around you. Even the dude in the next lane over is braking cause he doesn't know what the hell you are doing either!! Are you merging? Are you having a seizure?
3) Look at the road, NOT your GPS or worse, the damn TVs they have in cars now!! You do NOT need to watch Sponge Bob in the car!!! Your ADD kids can play with their Nintendo DS just like all the other kids do.
4) LEARN HOW TO READ A MAP and FOLLOW ACTUAL STREET SIGNS!!

Listen, I know this is difficult, but like most things in life, nothing ventured, nothing gained. Anything worth having is worth the effort it takes to get it. Don't become complacent with ignorance and laziness please!! Of all the times to unplug, even momentarily, from the Matrix... it really SHOULD be this time while you are driving.
Oh, but wait, isn't that the reason your steering wheel is next to your chin and the airbag broke your arm against the window. 10 and 2 doesn't work for an airbag... How bout trying 5 and 7 next time :)

This has been the one and only Quiet Mouse! Respect the rules of the road and your fellow drivers, PLEASE!!
Peace. Love. Respect. Honor. Truth.

I'm NOT White!!

Hello once again, my friends and fellow knowledge seekers. This is the Quiet Mouse once again.
I want to open the eyes of those around me by stating rather emphatically that I am NOT WHITE!!

Now I don't want to confuse anyone, cause I sense a little bit of hesitation at the mention of something that seems so obvious.
But Quiet Mouse, I can "see" that your skin color is white...
Is that what  you see when you look at me? Because that is NOT what I WANT you to see. I want you to look at me and see me as an intelligent individual, dynamic, creative. Skin pigment is an illusion, one of many, that is used by the powerful individuals to divide us and cause dissension and violence. While we are busy feuding and fighting over something so trivial, they are pick-pocketing our money out the back end....
Before you make assumptions about my previous statements (I can hear you whispering and murmuring out there in the Matrix). Think about this...

What is MELANIN? I found my answer on wisegeek.com

Also called pigment, melanin is a substance that gives the skin and hair its natural color. It also gives color to the iris of the eye, feathers, and scales. In humans, those with darker skin have higher amounts of melanin. By contrast, those with less pigment have lighter or more fair skin coloring.
Melanin, sometimes referred to as a chemical, is formed as part of the process of metabolizing an amino acidcalled tyrosine. In the skin, melanin is formed by cells called melanocytes. Certain medical conditions, such as albinism, are associated with the lack of melanin.
Melanin provides many benefits to human beings. One of the most recognized benefits involves ultraviolet rays of the sun. Melanin provides a natural protection against the harmful effects of these rays. However, it does not provide complete protection from the sun, and individuals with darker skin tones are still at risk from the sun's damaging rays.
Generally, those with darker skin tones and more melanin are able to tolerate exposure to the sun for hours without getting sunburn. By contrast, a person with lighter skin may get sunburn after spending only minutes in the midday sun. Skin cancer is directly related to exposure to the sun and the presence of less than optimal amounts of pigment. Sun exposure has even been linked with cataracts.
Melanin is also a mechanism for absorbing heat from the sun. This purposes is of particular importance to cold-blooded animals. Snakes, lizards, certain types of fish, and a wide range of other animals depend on their surroundings, including the rays of the sun, to establish and maintain their body temperatures.

So... to the point of my statement my friends.
I am NOT white, but rather pigmentally challenged. Its just a lack of melanin that makes me pale and pink. My heart is still the same as all others, I bleed the same as others, I live and breathe the same as others.
Just think about what is REAL and what is SUPERFICIAL when you meet someone and get to know them. We might have a lot in common, you never know...

This IS the Quiet Mouse. Keep love in your hearts and treat fear and hate like the gum on your shoe. Scrape it off and go on with your life.
Peace. Love. TRUTH. Respect.

Utopia Lost

Hello once again my friends and fellow knowledge seekers, this is the one and only Quiet Mouse coming at ya with more ideas that you might not have thought of previously. For all those who enjoy reading like I do, I would highly encourage you to look up "The Ones Who Walk Away from Omelas" by Ursula K. Le Guin.

This discourse she wrote really got me thinking about the American society and how other cultures see this country much like a Utopia. The FACT is that this is further from the truth than most want to admit. For the sake of argument, we will suggest that THEY are correct in their assumption that this is ACTUALLY the best place to work and live in the world. The mass media do their best to cultivate this image of the "American Dream" through movies, magazines, radio, and television. We can't help but escape these images that are force fed to us. I cannot deny that to an outsider, I can only imagine how alluring it must be, this idea that you can start from pennies to be a millionaire. Hollywood likes to portray this image, but it is an illusion, carefully crafted by those in power. Holly wood, if broken down into two words, actually has much meaning in and of itself. For those who do not know Holly wood was used in ancient times to make magic wands. Hollywood together as one word, is a play on words, simply illustrating the illusion or "magic" of the wool being pulled over your eyes in a major fashion.

The problem, as we can look at other cultures and testify to the fact that in order for there to be an elite, or upper class, SOMEONE has to SUFFER! Look at the caste system of India. The higher classes, much like this society, enjoy an opulent lifestyle while the lower class suffers the burdens of the wasteful, irresponsible elite.
The majority of people in this nation chose to ignore and turn their backs on those less fortunate, as if they chose to be where they are. What is worse is that people have the ability to rationalize their wasteful ways by saying that even if those unfortunate ones were by happenstance able to come by the "finer things", well, they just wouldn't appreciate them anyway. This is NOT my belief.
The constitution grants us the right to the PURSUIT of happiness. It does NOT guarantee us actual happiness, because it is all subjective. One person's garbage is another's treasure. In my opinion the problem arises that we, as Americans have lost our personal satisfaction because we are constantly seeking something we do NOT have, rather than living modestly and enjoying the things we DO have.
So, I guess to understand things, we have to get down to the brass tacks of what actually makes us happy...
Is it sex? Well, we ARE one of the most repressed cultures in the world, which has led to new levels of perversion and debauchery.
Is it drugs? Who can say? I believe that use in moderation can lead to SHORT-TERM happiness, but it is NOT sustainable and continued, repeated use leads to abuse and physical as well as psychological harm (allegedly, again, I think this is up to the user and personal tolerance levels and this funny idea called responsibility).
How about music? It seems that when we are engrossed in the music, as I have blogged about before, we have the ability to find a certain level of happiness, losing track of time.
So if it's not sex, drugs, and rock and roll, then what is it that makes us happy? Little things I think are the ones that make it all worth while. Adversity allows us to have a contrast for what is really important and truly makes us happy.
So, is it possible for there to be a Utopian society in this day and age. The terms for this type of society are STRICT and ABSOLUTE. The political and corporate interests are busy and publicly now trying to convince people that a New World Order is in the best interest of all. I do not agree. As I wrote before, in order for them to live their lifestyle, someone has to suffer and it is generally US, those who do not have all that much. Money aside, why are we constantly willing to give away MORE of our rights?
Feigning ignorance and denying the underlying social and economic problems plaguing this nation do not change the fact that they DO exist. I am gonna quote from this discourse I mentioned above because I believe what it says.
"The trouble is that we have a bad habit, encouraged by pedants and sophisticates, of considering happiness as something rather stupid. Only pain is intellectual, only evil is interesting. This is the treason of the artist: a refusal to admit the banality of evil and the terrible boredom of pain. If you can't lick 'em, join 'em. If it hurts, repeat it. But to praise despair is to condemn delight, to embrace violence is to lose hold of everything else. We have almost lost hold; we can no longer describe a happy man, nor make any celebration of joy."
The passage continues, but this one part really gripped into my very being. I personally strive to understand the complex idiosyncrasies of human behavior.
How does this passage make YOU feel?
Do you believe that it is possible for people to live in peace and harmony in an Utopian society? If it is based on MORE than lies and deception, perhaps... but if it is based on turning your back on one group so another can prosper, than I don't believe it is REAL.
What is REAL? Buddhist thought teaches that our entire existence in this "reality" is for the sole purpose to experience SUFFERING. It teaches that the "reality" we believe in and hold in such high reverence is an illusion for MEN to manipulate other MEN. When I say men, much like any theological text, I refer to MEN as humans in general.

It is a terrible paradox that we live in, having lost the basic building blocks of family, LOVE, and empathy that divide us apart from the rest of the animal kingdom, ruled only by basic instincts. Is this then, indeed, a vapid, irresponsible happiness that we are living in? Are we indeed FREE, knowing that our success has come at the sacrifice of so much, at such a high cost?

In "The Ones Who Walk Away from Omelas" the discourse ends with those who cannot accept the "reality" or at least chose NOT to accept it, they just walk away. In this country, we do not always have this option, especially with BIG BROTHER in an Orwellian, often destructive, control of society. Some chose to accept the system, repressing their guilt, turning a blind eye to the reality that is facing us daily. Some chose to get "off the grid" and live like the olden days gone by, much like the Amish still chose to live.
Is either side wrong for their beliefs? It is not my place to judge, only to inform. I can state my own opinions about the unjustifiable and reprehensible acts that we, as humans, have the ability to do against one another. All I want you to do is wake up and open your eyes and see the world around you for what it really is... FUCKED UP!!

This has been the Quiet Mouse once again. I hope that some more people will read this and wake up from this Matrix of illusion that has been pulled in front of your eyes to distract you from what is REAL.
Peace. Love. TRUTH. Respect. Empathy.

I Love College

Hello once again my friends!! I sincerely hope everyone enjoyed the end of a decade as well as the start of a new one. I for one, am off to a great start to the new year. I just started college after 13 years of being away. I did take some classes in the Navy, spent most of the year of 2005 in Surgical Technologist school and Otorhinolaryngology school, but it's still been a number of years, so... I am excited none-the-less :)
I am taking 18 credit hours this term to try to expedite my journey through the process so I can go on to be a nurse faster.
Despite what many preconceived notions some may have, nursing is an excellent career for MEN as well as women. I'm no Gaylord Focker, but hey... lol, I love to help people!! The problem with nursing right now is the average nurse age in the United States is almost 50 years old... OMG! There aren't enough schools to push through enough students for the future needs of the medical industry. There is also a growing age gap with the baby boomers all hitting retirement age now and in the near future. Many of the nurses already in the industry are the ones close to that retirement age, which, sadly, keeps getting pushed back.
Regardless of anyone else's nursing or other college ambitions, I want to finish my work at community college as fast as I can, so I can transfer over to Washington State University to get by BSN in nursing, and be a Cougar, as opposed to a Penguin that I am right now ;)
Well, as many of you may know, college seems a little more difficult than it was in the past. I just wish, in hindsight, that I would have been a little more motivated for the school work in the past. Hindsight being always 20/20. Despite the past, I have learned from my personal mistakes and do NOT plan to let anything stop me from achieving my goal of personal excellence :) That, and unlike last time (which school got in the way of my party schedule, lol) I am NOT procrastinating. Day 2 of school and I am doing my best to keep up with the already given reading and homework assignments. Today I finished almost early, at a laughable 420 p.m... no lie. So now I have time to blog or play video games or maybe watch a movie later.
I know it's gonna be a long road with a lot of hard work, but it IS worth the effort and I AM excited to be back in school. Good thing the VA is helping pay for me to go with Chapter 31 Vocational Rehab program.
I just need to keep my head in the game and study hard. 18 credit hours is a lot, but my schedule is pretty chill, giving me plenty of study time (as long as I use it properly). Fridays are gonna be my easiest days of the week with only 2 classes. I have 3 classes scheduled every other day of the week. So far, I think Math and my Science Fiction & Fantasy Writing class are gonna be my favorites, not that I am trying to exclude my English 101 or Intercultural Communications class at all.
And as I leave you all once again for further thought and enlightenment via your internet searches, here is a song by one of my new favorite rappers, Asher Roth, with his song "I Love College" (if you haven't heard it, just youtube it):

I'm nice right now, man
I-I feel good
If you have a drink
Would you please put it in the air?

That party last night was awfully crazy I wish we taped it
I danced my ass off and had this one girl completely naked
Drink my beer and smoke my weed but my good friends is all I need
Pass out at 3, wake up at 10, go out to eat then do it again
Man, I love college

I wanna go to college for the rest of my life
Sip Banker's Club and drink Miller Lite
On Thirsty Thursday and Tuesday Night Ice
And I can get pizza a dollar a slice

So fill up my cup, let's get fucked up
I'm next on the table, who want what?
I am champion at beer pong
Allen Iverson, Hakeem Olajuwon

Don't even bounce, not in my house
Better hope you make it otherwise you naked
Time isn't wasted when you're getting wasted
Woke up today and all I could say is

Um, that party last night was awfully crazy I wish we taped it
I danced my ass off and had this one girl completely naked
Drink my beer and smoke my weed but my good friends is all I need
Pass out at 3, wake up at 10, go out to eat then do it again

Man, I love college, ay!
And I love drinking, ay!
I love women, ay!
Man, I love college

I can't tell you what I learned from school but
I could tell you a story or two, um
Yeah, of course I learned some rules
Like don't pass out with your shoes on
(Get the Sharpie!)

And don't leave the house 'til the booze gone
(No, we're not leaving)
And don't have sex if she's too gone
When it comes to condoms put two on
(Trust me)
Then tomorrow night find a new jawn

Hold the beer bong, nothing wrong with some fun
(Here, hold this)
Even if we did get a little bit too drunk
Time isn't wasted when you're getting wasted
Woke up today and all I could say is

That party last night was awfully crazy I wish we taped it
(I wish we taped)
I danced my ass off and had this one girl completely naked
Drink my beer and smoke my weed but my good friends is all I need
Pass out at 3, wake up at 10, go out to eat then do it again

Man, I love college, ay!
I love drinking, ay!
I love women, ay!
I love college

Now if everybody would please
Put their drink as high as they can
As high as they can
(As high as they can)
And repeat after me

Chug! Chug! Chug! Chug!
Chug! Chug! Chug! Chug!
Freshmen! Freshmen!
Freshmen! Freshmen!

Do something' crazy! Do somethin' crazy!
Do something' crazy! Do somethin' crazy!
Keg stand! Keg stand!
Keg stand! Keg stand!

(That party last night)
Man, I love college
I love it!
(That party last night)
Alright everybody, I gotta head back to class for a little bit

That party last night was awfully crazy I wish we taped it
(I wish we taped)
(You know it's going down)
I danced my ass off and had this one girl completely naked
Drink my beer and smoke my weed but my good friends is all I need
(You're all invited, bring your friends)
Pass out at 3, wake up at 10, go out to eat then do it again
Man, I love college

Do I really have to graduate?
Or can I just stay here for the rest of my life?

Hmm... I might just stay in college the rest of my life. I love being around the learning vibe sooo much!!
I have always loved learning, maybe that makes me a nerd, but I'd rather be a smart geek than a DUMB ASS!! This has been the one and only Quiet Mouse.
Peace. Love. Thought. Respect.

Happy New Year

Hello in the new year of 2011 my friends!! This is the one and only Quiet Mouse back to send warm wishes to all my friends and family, brothers and sisters of all nations in the world.
So 2010 turned out to be a little bit of a bust and disappointment for many. The recession continued and unemployment rates went up, tapered off a bit, but where are the new jobs at? More people lost their homes. The war still continues in Iraq and Afghanistan...

2010 was far from the vision that science fiction writers of the past envisioned. Weren't we supposed to have flying cars and space travel to the other planets, as written by Arthur C. Clarke in his 2001 and 2010 books?
Maybe we can make this new year about MORE than corporate greed and get back on the horse as an American country. There are too many smart minds in this country to allow this lack of innovation to continue. Lets all put down the guns and inflated egos and join together in an effort to raise the bar of standard for us as individuals and for society in general. Lets keep lobbying and pressuring our leaders to end the prohibition on cannabis and other herbs. Lets create more jobs on our own. We have to quit asking big brother for a hand out and start doing things for OURSELVES as a culture. Lets concern our minds with sustainability and GREEN energy rather than the Matrix of lies and disillusionment that has plagued this nation for so long. Lets all make a pledge to get away from the computer, cell phone, and television for at least an hour every day to renew our spiritual connection with MOTHER EARTH. Lets seek alternative therapies to all the pharmaceuticals that have been shoved down our throats. Lets eat more FRUITS & VEGETABLES instead of McDonalds and other junky, allegedly "fast" food. Lets give praise back to the creator and marvel in her Earthly beauty, rivers, forests, mountains, etc... before the greedy powers RAPE and destroy the landscape of this beautiful planet for their own profiteering agenda. Buy local and organic so we can put evil polluting companies like Monsanto out of business. Boycott cotton!! Over half of the pesticides and chemicals used in the entire planet are used on COTTON!! Ask for hemp, the ULTIMATE RENEWABLE RESOURCE!!
Stand up and break away from the Matrix and shout to the sky "I'm mad as hell and I'm not gonna take it!!" (from the movie Network). We MUST demand a better world and WE have to change our own paradigm from one of fear, hatred, and distrust to one of PEACE, LOVE, and BROTHERHOOD FOR ALL!!
The most important thing of all is for YOU and I to THINK!! WAKE UP FROM THE MATRIX and join REALITY!! Put down the cell phones and converse with the ones you love to their faces.
This is the year for REAL CHANGE!! It just starts within and LOVE is contagious. Just let go of the past. We cannot change what has already happened! All we can do is VOW NOT to make the same mistakes that we have done over and over already...

Are you ready? Today is the day to make your new years resolutions. How bout one of helping your fellow man EVERY day? How bout one of getting off the couch, away from the distractions of modern society and take your shoes off in the grass and feel your connection with something far greater than yourself? How bout a resolution of STOPPING the senseless commercialism of buying a bunch of shit you don't need. STOP overspending for holidays that are pointless and distract you from the true meaning of LOVE, FAMILY, and TOGETHERNESS that was REALLY MEANT TO BE!!

Are you ready to grow up and act like an adult? Are you ready to live a fruitful life that is congruent with the natural order? Ready to wake up and stop being a mindless consumer?
Put down the Coach bags, the Air Jordan shoes, and the high tech gadgets (especially the GPS crap)!! Plant some trees, grow some of your own food, and lets take back this planet away from the greedy corporate swine!

This has been the Quiet Mouse. Happy 2011!! Lets ALL make this the year of change, LOVE, and PEACE!!
Truth. Love. Peace. Honor. Ingenuity. Respect.

PRO-LIFE?

Namaste and welcome to another posting for the Quiet Mouse Strikes Back. Thank you for taking the time out of your busy day to read my thoug...
